Hear me out before you get up in arms. One of the many wounds that most believers currently face is the overwhelming sense of disappointment from waiting on God, hoping for something they are 100 percent responsible for, and expecting fruit to come from a seed they didn’t plant. Nothing positive comes from the fruit of our stagnation.

Hoping for a day that’s never coming is pointless because some things don’t require hope—they require work.
I heard someone recently say, “I hope I can write a book one day.” Immediately, I felt a sense of deep disappointment—and a bit of anger—because I care about their future. I know all too well, after years of learning, that my personal regrets often had very little to do with other people, and more to do with the deep anguish I felt for not valuing myself enough to be tenacious in pursuing the things I believed were meant for me.
You don’t hope to lose the weight. You set goals and surround yourself with the people and tools necessary to make that desire a reality. You don’t hope you can write a book. You sit down, find the areas where your voice can make an impact, and write—even if it’s just a sentence a day. You don’t hope for healing. You pursue it. You face your fears, allow God to walk you back to those painful times, and confront them. You stare your past in the face, pull the dagger out of your chest, and unlace yourself from those horrifying words.
You can’t conquer anything if you’re unwilling to move from what’s comfortable.
I hope you stop hoping. I hope you graduate from desire to decision. I hope this year you face all your fears and fight for what you want—and fight for where you belong.
Sincerely,
-Your Coach J ❤️🔥
